The debut EP by Brazilian artist Serra das Máquinas is an anthropophagic dive into Minas Gerais universe that devours poetry with electro. The set of four tracks -- three originals and one remix -- features electro tones, breakbeat drums and elements of Brazilian popular culture.
Bio
Serra das Máquinas is the project of Belo Horizonte multi instrumentalist and composer Leonardo Thebit. It is the result of his interest in possible points of contact and conflict between electronic music and Brazilian rhythmic and anthropophagic traditions.
Analog synthesis, sonorous textures and atonal noises are the basis of his musical identity, which encompasses electro and acid house and walks freely throughout a nameless field of experimentation and improvisation.
His first EP, Queimadura, is an open invitation to the reimagination of an essentially Brazilian electronic music -- against antagonistic sublimations, brought in the caravels.
